BT boss lashes Eircom over ComReg action
BT Ireland’s chief executive has lashed out at Eircom and its prospective new owner, STT (Singapore Technologies Telemedia), over what he called its ‘‘appalling’’ attempts to stifle competition in the broadband market, writes David Clerkin.
Chris Clark said renewed court action by Eircom, which is to mount a fresh challenge to plans by industry regulator ComReg to force down the cost of access to Eircom’s network, was an effort to ensure that broadband costs remained higher in Ireland than in other European countries.
