Bruton: government cannot alter upward-only rents

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, has said that the government is powerless to address upward-only rents.

The Minister for Jobs, Trade and Innovation, Richard Bruton, has said that the governmetn is powerless to address upward-only rents.

Speaking on RTE’s News At One programme today, Bruton said that it was constitutionally impossible for the government to legislate against upward-only rents.

Bruton urged retailers to trade online and to target export markets.
