Bruton gets approval to pursue new EU/US trade deal talks

EU trade ministers have agreed to give Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton a mandate to open talks on a new EU/US trade deal.

EU trade ministers have agreed to give Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton a mandate to open talks on a new EU/US trade deal.

Last Friday at a meeting of the EU's Trade Council in Luxembourg, Bruton secured a mandate to begin talks with the US for a new trade deal that the EU claims could potentially create 400,000 new jobs and a boost to EU Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 0.5 per cent.
