Former Fine Gael taoiseach and former EU ambassador to the US John Bruton is expected to invoke the spirit of Charles Stewart Parnell on the value of party discipline when he launches the Parnell Summer School today.

The former taoiseach who led the rainbow coalition of Fine Gael, Labour and Democratic Left from 1994 to 1997 will deliver the opening address to the summer school in Avondale, Co Wicklow this afternoon.
