Brussels to extend probe into Ryanair's takeover bid

Ryanair has said that it expects the European Commission to initiate a Phase 2 investigation into its €694 million takeover bid for Aer Lingus.

Ryanair has said that it expects the European Commission to initiate a Phase 2 investigation into its €694 million takeover bid for Aer Lingus.

The European Commission is set to deliver its preliminary decision on the proposed takeover in the coming days, and Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary said he expected the competition authorities to extend it to an in-depth Phase 2 probe.
