Broadband subscriptions up 35%

The number of broadband subscriptions has grown to 1.2 million, according to new figures from the Commission for Communication Regulation (ComReg).

The number of broadband subscriptions has grown to 1.2 million, according to new figures from the Commission for Communication Regulation (ComReg). The figures include 3G mobile broadband. According to ComReg, this represents an increase of 35.4 per cent on 2007's figures.

Broadband penetration reached 27.1 per cent per capita, the agency said. Excluding mobile broadband, subscriptions stood at 891,346.
