British property firm made bid for Delphi Spa

A British property company made a €3.3 million bid for Delphi Spa and Adventure Centre at Leenane in Co Galway just days before the multimillion euro business was put into receivership.

The Sunday Business Post has learned that Manchester-based Espalier Private Equity made the bid four days before Bank of Scotland appointed Dublin accountant Pearse Farrell as receiver. It is understood that the bank is owned €2.5 million. Espalier, which is controlled by businessman Andrew Colin, has not had any response to its offer to date. It is understood to be considering withdrawing the bid.
