The British economy grew by 0.8 per cent in the second quarter of 2014, putting it ahead of its pre-crisis peak after six years, the Office of National Statistics (ONS) said.
The second-quarter performance has brought GDP 0.2 per cent above its level at the beginning of 2008.
By 2009, British GDP had dropped 7.2 per cent below the pre-crisis level.
