Richie Boucher, chief executive of Bank of Ireland, and his top executives are doing the rounds of Dublin stockbrokers this week in an effort to drum up support from investors for the bank’s rights issue this month.

The case for participation in the €1.9 billion equity-raising exercise is looking weak ahead of the bank’s EGM tomorrow as the shares continue to drift down towards the state-underwritten rights price of 10c.
