Bosses who target young workers prosecuted

The number of employers prosecuted for breaking laws governing the employment of young workers more than doubled between 2004 and 2005.

In 2004,ten employers were convicted of breaches of the Protection of Young Persons (Employment) Act,1 996, according to new figures from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

The following year,22 convictions were secured against employers for breaches of this law.
