Bord Gáis plans to start supplying electricity to homes in the North next year, and hopes to win a 25 per cent share of the market there.

Bord Gáis plans to start supplying electricity to homes in the North next year, and hopes to win a 25 per cent share of the market there.

The semi-state company is already supplying electricity to businesses in the North, where the market is dominated by the Viridian group, which includes Northern Ireland Electricity.

There are about 740,000 business and domestic customers in the North, according to the firm.
