The world's largest independent power producer is the latest party to register an interest in buying Bord Gáis Energy, *The Sunday Business Post* has learned.

French multinational GDF Suez is the biggest suitor yet for the state-owned company. Its revenue was more than €97 billion last year. It employs 220,000 people worldwide.
