Boots profits up 11% as turnover reaches €275m

Operating profits at the Boots pharmacy chain in Ireland increased by 11 per cent to €17.9 million in the year to the end of March 2012.

Operating profits at the Boots pharmacy chain in Ireland increased by 11 per cent to €17.9 million in the year to the end of March 2012. Recently filed accounts show Boots Retail (Ireland) Limited had a €275 million turnover, up from €267 million the previous year.

According to the accounts, Boots had an average of 1,424 full-time employees in the Republic. Total employee costs were €51.4 million - or €36,000 per employee.
