Boots Ireland reports pre-tax profit of €19m

Boots, the British health and beauty retailer, made a pre-tax profit of almost €19million last year from its Irish chain of stores.

The figures represent an increase of 15 per cent on the previous year, when the company recorded a profit of €16million, according to accounts just filed for Boots Retail (Ireland), the group’s main Irish holding company.

Boots, which has 41 stores in Ireland, had sales last year of €208 million, up 8 per cent on 2004 when sales were €193million. Gross profits at the company increased by €10 million to €84million. According to...
