Cineworld, the country’s largest cinema complex, recorded a sharp drop in profits to €2 million last year amid rising costs.
Pre-tax profits at the Dublin city cinema were down from €3.3 million in 2006. While turnover increased slightly to €16.1 million last year, from €15.9 million in 2006, the firm was hit by a €1 million increase in administrative expenses and rising overall costs.
