Arts minister Jimmy Deenihan faces a battle in his bid to acquire the historic Bank of Ireland branch on College Green Dublin for a literary centre and tourist attraction.

Deenihan is to meet Bank of Ireland governor Pat Molloy this week to discuss his plans for the landmark building, and will subsequently bring proposals to cabinet.
