BoI to cut staff preferential interest rates

Bank of Ireland staff will see the interest they earn on preferential savings accounts slashed from next month.

Bank of Ireland staff will see the interest they earn on preferential savings accounts slashed from next month.

Earlier this month the bank sent a letter to its employees with staff deposit accounts indicating that the interest rate on their savings account will drop in early December.

''The interest rate on your deposit account will be amended from 1 per cent gross to 0.2 per cent gross with effect from December 4, the letter said.
