Long the talk of the aviation world, Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner took to the skies for its first civil airshow display yesterday.

Qatar Airways unveiled its new 787 at Britain’s Farnborough Airshow. The big talking point from the display was reported to be the relative silence of the new aircraft, which was designed with fuel efficiency in mind.

But it was Boeing's other new offering, the 737 MAX, that really grabbed the headlines...
