Bob Diamond, the former chief executive of Barclays Bank, is being interviewed by Britain's Treasury Committee in London.
He said he was aware that unidentified Labour government members had expressed concern about the interbank lending rate but said he did not believe they were encouraging the bank to "fiddle" the rate.
