Government’s strange plan for our pensions
The government put a lot of work into the job creation aspects of the package announced last week, most of which were useful enough.
However, it did not pay the same attention to the money-raising bit.
The raid on the pension funds is a bit of a mess, renewing the old ‘public sector versus private sector’ debate and moving government revenue generation into a new arena: grabbing existing assets.
