BMI pulls out of Star Alliance

BMI, the British-based airline with flights into Ireland, has announced to its customers that it is pulling out of the Star Alliance group of airlines.

BMI, the British-based airline with flights into Ireland, has announced to its customers that it is pulling out of the Star Alliance group of airlines.

BMI club members "will still be able to enjoy Star Alliance benefits associated with membership tier levels until 31 May 2012", according to an email from the airline.

"From 1 June 2012 any benefits associated with your tier membership and the ability to earn status miles and earn and spend destinations miles...
