Bloxham fallout: Professionals call for ending self-regulation of stockbrokers

Tax professionals have urged the government to move quickly to end the self-regulation of the stockbroking profession, following the criticism of the role of auditors in the closure of Bloxham. Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) said that such a move was necessary to bolster confidence in Ireland.

It emerged last week that financial irregularities were uncovered at Bloxham going back over several years and that auditor Deloitte had agreed the accounts.
