January 24, 2007 was officially the most depressing day of the year, according to psychologists. If that is repeated this year, one way to combat feeling down in the dumps is by the foods that we eat.

Omega 3 fatty acids, found in oily fish, block mood-killing chemicals called cytokines. Some research also suggests that folates can help control a bad mood. Folates are found in cabbage, broccoli and brussels sprouts.
