Bite size: Freshly baked hot cross buns for some early Easter rising
Although the origin of the hot cross bun is disputed, their popularity at this time of the year certainly isn’t. Superquinn is expecting to sell around half a million of the spiced teacakes between now and Easter – six-packs cost €2.99.
The Bretzel Bakery on Lennox Street in Dublin 8 is also baking fresh hot cross buns every day this week, and is open every morning at 8.30am.
