Talking food: Alice Waters of Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California, will speak at the Ballymaloe International Literary Festival of Food.

Darina Allen has put together an impressive line-up for the inaugural Ballymaloe International Literary Festival of Food and Wine from May 3 to 6.

As well as Alice Waters from Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California, Indian food guru Madhur Jaffrey and Claus Meyer, who co-founded Noma with Rene Redzepi, the weekend will feature Middle Eastern and Spanish food expert Claudia Roden, Stevie Parle from the Dock Kitchen in London and wine writer Jancis Robinson.
