There are lots of good reasons to visit the new Avoca food market in Monkstown, south Dublin, and Pat Whelan's butcher's counter is one of them. His family business, James Whelan Butchers, has been operating in Clonmel for 50 years. The company has been selling and delivering its products countrywide through its website for some time now, but the branch in Avoca is its first retail venture outside Tipperary.
