Ireland's first bitcoin vending machine opens for business in Dublin city centre, writes Joe Griffin.
There is a vending machine sitting on Dublin's Abbey Street right now that doesn't dispense cash. You can put in money, and then the money will be converted to bitcoin, the new virtual currency.
For the uninitiated, bitcoin is a virtual, digital currency or ''alternative currency developed by cryptographers. For better and worse, it exists outside government currencies, which means more privacy and a potentially good investment.
