Irish integrated waste management company Greenstar has announced plans to invest €12million in the five-year roll out of the first phase of its bio-energy strategy, which will see the company produce electricity from landfill gas.

The announcement coincided with the official opening of its first ever gas-to-energy plant, in Brownstown, Co Kildare, last week.
