Changes will be introduced in this week’s Finance Bill which will give same-sex couples equal financial rights to married couples.

Under the new Civil Partnership Act, which was passed before Christmas and came into effect this month, same sex couples can register their civil partnership and be treated like spouses in financial matters, such as tax and inheritance.
