Bill for €100 household charge published
The government has published legislation for a new €100 charge to be levied on households in advance of a full property tax.
The Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan, has published legislation for the introduction of a €100 household charge.
Hogan said that the new charge was "vital to fund local services in line with the requirement in the EU/IMF programme of financial support for Ireland".
Hogan said that work is to commence early in the new year on the development of the property tax.
