Biden, Ryan perform well in feisty clash

US vice President Joe Biden and Paul Ryan both acquitted themselves well in a debate that was for more adversarial than Barack Obama's with Mitt Romney.

US vice president Joe Biden, seeking to repair damage done by President Barack Obama’s subdued debate last week, delivered an assertive performance while clashing with Paul Ryan over foreign policy, Medicare and taxes.
