Bidders line up to buy Racing Post
Several bids for the Racing Post newspaper are expected in by tomorrow’s deadline for initial offers, with Irish entrepreneur Dermot Desmond and John Magnier thought to be among the potential bidders.
The publication is expected to fetch more than £200million (€295 million). More than 100 interested parties have asked for details on the Racing Post, which was been put up for sale byTrinity Mirror. The level of interest suggests the battle for the title could be more closely fought than expected. Potential bidders include online gambling firms and private equity companies.
