Bid puts Irish Hiltons in play

Hilton Hotels Corporation's (HHC) €5.3 billion bid to buy the 403 hotels currently owned by the Hilton Group has put the spotlight on the five hotels that Hilton operates in Ireland.

Hilton Hotels Corporation's (HHC) €5.3 billion bid to buy the 403 hotels currently owned by the Hilton Group has put the spotlight on the five hotels that Hilton operates in Ireland.

According to analysts, HHC may be paying too much for Hilton International - the hotels owned by the British company which also owns the Ladbrokes bookmaking chain - and will be forced to sell some of its Hilton International hotels to finance the deal.
