Best foot forward for shoe firm

Planning for her wedding nine years ago, Nicola Wade had a difficult time finding suitable shoes for her mother, who has long feet.

Eventually the two had to travel to a specialised shoe store in London and, not knowing when Wade’s mother would be able to buy shoes again, they bought seven pairs.

The experience led Wade and her husband Robert in 1997 to set up Tipp Toes, a Tipperary company that supplies specialised footwear and insoles to Ireland and parts of Europe. Since opening the store, they have found many people who need custom-made footwear....
