BES investor numbers are down by 60%

The number of people who invested in Irish companies through the Business Expansion Scheme (BES) fell by almost 60 per cent last year, according to new figures.

The number of people who invested in Irish companies through the Business Expansion Scheme (BES) fell by almost 60 per cent last year, according to new figures.

The figures released by the Revenue Commissioners show that investment through the BES has also fallen significantly over the past 12months, despite the government extending the scheme until the end of 2006.
