Investment in Irish companies through business expansion schemes (BES) collapsed last year, as investors shied away from funding indigenous companies.
A total of €62.3 million was invested in Irish companies through the scheme last year, down almost 55 per cent on 2008, when Irish companies secured €135.8 million in BES funding.
