Belfast to get new ‘optimistic’ landmark

Belfast is to have a new landmark in the shape of a 45-metre-tall public artwork to be erected on the Broadway Roundabout on the city's M1.

Belfast is to have a new landmark in the shape of a 45-metre-tall public artwork to be erected on the Broadway Roundabout on the city's M1. Californian artist Ed Carpenter, chosen in a well subscribed competition, has designed a wild flower to symbolise the regeneration of the city.

To date, Carpenter's public work includes Florida's Orlando Tower and his Dream Leaves installation at the University of Hawaii.
