The Belfast company that runs Europe’s largest Kentucky Fried Chicken chain is planning to open more restaurants in Ireland, after operating profits doubled to stg£4.7 million in 2004.

The Belfast company that runs Europe’s largest Kentucky Fried Chicken chain is planning to open more restaurants in Ireland, after operating profits doubled to stg£4.7 million in 2004.

Herbel Restaurants, which is controlled by Northern businessman Michael Herbert, owns more than 60 KFC fast food outlets in Ireland, Britain and the Isle of Man. The company also has a stg£100 million property portfolio.
