Belfast property developer Suneil Sharma has been refused planning permission on his €100 million Horizon Mall on the outskirts of Limerick, a controversial development that had threatened to derail the city’s regeneration plans.

The site, on the Dublin Road just outside the city, currently contains the bones of the proposed Parkway Valley shopping centre, an abandoned Celtic tiger-era development by Liam Carroll’s Zoe Group.
