Bedminster, the waste conversion firm controlled by businessman Bill McCabe, is in advanced discussions on a $300million deal to set up a facility on the US west coast.
The company is understood to be close to signing an agreement with a large waste management firm to convert 200,000 tonnes of waste a year.
Pearse O'Kane, the chief executive of Bedminster, confirmed the discussions, but would not comment on the identity of the US firm.
