The Beacon Medical Group plans to open four more private hospitals within the next five years, in a move that will shake up the Irish private healthcare market.

Last week, the Irish-owned group launched a €175 million privately-funded hospital in Sandyford in Dublin. It is also at advanced planning stages for hospitals in two regional cities and is looking at other prospective sites in the Republic and the North.
