A switch-off of Irish analogue television services by 2012 is ‘‘totally achievable’’, the chief executive of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland, Michael O’Keeffe, has said.
The past six months have seen the BCI accelerating its plans for licensing the operators of three commercial multiplexes that are likely to mainly supply replacement television services to people without cable or satellite links, as soon as analogue comes to an end.
