Battle of the screens plays on
Cousins Paul Ward and Paul Anderson are locked in a bitter battle which could tear the multiplex cinema giant apart, writes Ian Kehoe.
"I will not take part in any meetings at which you are chairman." With that comment, Paul Ward, a scion of the Ward Anderson cinema dynasty, walked out of a company board meeting at the Galway Multiplex on June 15.
The comment was directed at his cousin Paul Anderson, and signalled a major escalation in an already bitter row between the two families who, between them, control half of Ireland's cinema screens.
