Economist Sean Barrett has circulated a harsh criticism of the government’s handling of the economy to the members of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC).

Barrett, a Trinity College economist who is also a member of the council, sent a written note to his colleagues saying there was disorder in the public finances and a failure in the performance and regulation of financial institutions.
