Bar Council to 'review' new fee system

The Bar Council says it will "review" a new system by the State Claims Agency which aims to cut barristers' fees in personal injury cases by up to 25 per cent.

The Bar Council, which represents the state's 2,234 practising barristers, says it will "review" a new system by the State Claims Agency (SCA) which aims to cut barristers' fees in personal injury cases by up to 25 per cent.

The SCA is a specialist unit in the National Treasury Management Agency responsible for managing personal injury and property damage-related compensation claims against 54 state authorities.
