Banks set to announce 3,000 job losses this week

Staff at AIB have been told to expect an announcement on proposed redundancy terms for more than 2,000 jobs at the bank by the end of this week, in the latest of an expected wave of bank layoffs, according to informed sources. With a redundancy announcement likely from Bank of Ireland around the same time, some 3,000 job losses in total at the two banks may be signalled.
