Banks fear Danske coup with 2.6% mortgage rate
Big bank mortgage lenders are increasingly fearful that new entrant Danske Bank will undercut them by introducing a standard 2.6 per cent rate mortgage rate for all mortgage lenders.
A move on this scale by the National Irish Bank owner would shake up the Ir ish mortgage market and force the big lenders to pare their large mortgage margins to the lowest ever levels.
