Bank staff face reduced redundancy

AIB is expected to offer its employees a redundancy package in line with the five weeks pay per year of service that HSE workers received, sources have indicated.

AIB is expected to offer its employees a redundancy package in line with the five weeks pay per year of service that HSE workers received in their last round of lay-offs, sources have indicated.

The bank is believed to be close to getting sign-off from finance minister Michael Noonan on the deal, after which both parties will have to consult the Irish Bank Officials Association (IBOA).
