The Bank of England has kept its interest rates at a historic low of 0.5 per cent, it was announced today.

The Bank of England has kept its interest rates at a historic low of 0.5 per cent, it was announced today.

UK interest rates have remained at their current level for more than five years and it was widely expected that they would remained unchanged.

Economists have speculated however, that rates may have to rise this year as UK growth begins to accelerate.
