Bakery needs to find new investor

Gills Bakery, theDublin bread company that was placed into examinership, last week, has a “reasonable chance'‘ of overcoming its financial woes if it can find a new investor, the High Court has been told.

The bakery,which is one of the country's main suppliers of brown bread, was put into examinership after cashflow problems.

It is understood that it ran into difficulties following a major investment in a British operation. The examiner, Barry Forrest of Dublin f irm UHY O'Connor, Leddy & Holmes, has 35 days from his date of appointment to find new investors and present a scheme to restructure to company's finances to its creditors.
